Mining Operation
North Georgia's
only commercially operating GOLD MINE!
We dig the ore with the strip mining process. When the mining is
complete in this area the land is restored by creating a beautiful lake!
The ore is then transported to our nearby plant where we separate the
gold, gem ore, sand and gravel.
The ore is dumped onto this large grizzly where the larger pieces are
dumped off allowing the sand (where the gold is) and the gravel to fall
through and be processed through the plant.
The sand is washed into sluices where the gold is trapped. At the end
of the day the plant is shut down and the gold is extracted from the
sluices.
